Všechno nejlepší k osmdesátým narozeninám, Alenko!

Following on very closely from the eightieth birthday of one of what I call the ‘Brno Bunch’ – of artists who recorded overwhelmingly in Brno – Vlaďka Prachařová, on 23rd March just gone, we have now reached the equivalent occasion in the case of another of the ‘Brno Bunch’, Alena Tichá, only in her case being born in nearby Zlín instead of Brno itself.

Over at this post at the ‘Sister Blog’, to ‘Girls Of The Golden East’, the Fan Blog for Valérie Čižmárová, ‘Hotlips On The Horse Tram’, I recently embedded a YouTube video from my channel of a demonstration of ‘Eastern Soul’ Dancing to Valérie Čižmárová’s ‘Za sluncem, za vodou’/’Borůvek pár’ (‘In Sunshine, In Water’/’A Few Blueberries’), as the music had been natively composed by Ivan Šendera. To reflect that at this post here I have done the same (sort of!) in the case of Alena Tichá’s ‘Dám vám lék’ (‘I Give You The Cure’), as that is a Czech-language cover of Laura Nyro’s ‘Hands Off The Man (Flim Flam Man)’ and the actual same in the case of ‘Náhody’ (‘Coincidences’), with music by Max Wittmann, the rest of the recording credits and details being as follows:

‘Dám vám lék’

Lyrics: Jiří Kameš

‘Náhody’

Lyrics: Pavel Cmíral

Both

Instrumental Accompaniment: Orchestr Studio Brno under Erik Knirsch

Production: Bohuslav Sedláček

Recorded 19th October 1972, Čs. Rozhlas Brno

(Partly) ‘Eastern Soul’ in action!

…oh and as I mention her in this video, «Joyeux Quatre-Vingtième Anniversaire, Nicoletta!», too!
